<p>Overview</p> <p>As a member of the Garage personnel, a Transportation Repairman is responsible for servicing and maintaining the Electric Boat Fleet, including buses, vans, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and snow equipment etc. This person routinely troubleshoots, repairs and preventively services equipment and vehicles with diesel and gasoline engines, as well as hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems.</p> <p>This person needs to be familiar with vehicle computer diagnosis, diagnostic equipment as well as automotive computer systems. Servicing the hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical subsystems of electric forklifts is a major portion of the work, including battery change-outs. This position supports snow/ice conditions.</p> <p>Must own personal tools up to 1" in size and ½" in drive in both standard and metric. Candidate must be familiar with DOT regulations and inspection requirements.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High school diplonma or GED eqivalency </li><li>5+ years of experience </li><li>Fork-truck repair and operation experience </li><li>Familiar with DOT regulation and inspection requirements </li><li>Experience in Diesel and gasoline engines, heavy duty truck, light duty vehicles, hydraulic systems and electrical systems </li><li>Possess own personal tools up to 1" in size and ½" in drive in both standard and metric </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>ASE Certification for Heavy Duty truck and automotive </li><li>CDL license </li><li>Basic computer application user knowledge </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Applicant should be capable of making decisions with supervisory oversight based on management objectives </li><li>Must possess sufficient planning and organizational ability to establish and maintain a safe, clean and well organized work area considering multiple projects may be on-going simultaneously. </li><li>Candidate must understand the operational capabilities of the equipment that can be deployed and must be aware of item's technical and legal limitations. </li></ul> <p>Physical Qualifications</p> <p>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting</p> <p>Environmental Attributes</p> <p>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet</p>
