Key responsibilities include daily safety observations, production monitoring, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures the correct preparation of products and finished goods. Shared responsibility for Safety training, new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work and methods improvements.</p> <p>This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based on individual job responsibilities and the department's needs.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Conduct safety line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings </li><li>Create daily and overtime schedules </li><li>Delegate responsibilities to line group leaders and other employees </li><li>Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCPs </li><li>Assist in performing new hire orientation trainings </li><li>Report and review employee disciplinary issues with supervisor </li><li>Sanitation and housekeeping </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years within a production environment, preferably lead experience </li><li>Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred </li><li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience, preferred BA/BS </li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish required </li><li>English comprehension is required </li><li>Capability to prioritize and organize workload </li><li>Ability to foster teamwork </li><li>Good verbal & written communication skills are required </li><li>Basic computer skills within programs such as Microsoft Office and the internet are required </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS & SALARY</p> <p>The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum compensation for the Assistant Production Supervisor is $26.26. For the 3rd shift opportunity, the shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift is an additional $2.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by a candidates experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
