<p>Job Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining fabrication equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to customer specifications. This role involves reading blueprints, setting up equipment, monitoring production, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Operate metal fabrication equipment (presses, lathes, cutters, etc.). Set up machines according to job specifications, including selecting tools, adjusting settings, and verifying material dimensions. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas. Report any mechanical issues, safety hazards, or material shortages to supervisors. Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures. Crosstrain on various machines in the department and plant Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and packaging as needed. Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, and overhead cranes.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred. </li><li>Basic competency with power hand-tools (drill, grinder, bench, grinder, etc.) </li><li>Basic understanding of mechanical operations and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). </li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for extended periods. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Manufacturing floor environment is well-lit and climate-controlled with exposure to noise, dust, welding, and moving equipment. </li><li>Personal protective equipment (PPE) required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.). </li></ul>
