<p>Assistant Coach, Track</p> <p>Department: Athletics</p> <p>Location: Metropolitan Campus</p> <p>Reports To: Head Coach Track, Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Head coach</p> <p>Recruitment Type: External/Internal</p> <p>Requisition ID: req6663</p> <p>Employment Type: Part-Time Support Staff</p> <p>Union Position: Non-Union</p> <p>Work Schedule: Evenings and weekends</p> <p>Number of Openings: 1</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>Under the supervision of the head coach, organizes and administers all matters related to track and enforces all rules and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJACC), Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), and the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) where applicable as a framework to instruct student athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary to achieve individual and team success. Enforces rules and regulations pertaining to conditioning of players and training rules affecting the health and safety of players.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists the head coach with all practice sessions and games</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with NJCAA, OCCAC, and Tri-C rules and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Attends staff meetings when called by the head coach and/or Executive Director, Athletics, Wellness & Recreation</p> </li><li> <p>Provides emergency first aid and medical care in absence of the trainer</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the enforcement of rules and regulations pertaining to conditioning of players and training rules affecting the health and safety of players.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the recruitment of student-athletes and scouting opponents</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the establishment and enforcement of team rules</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with conducting clinics, practices, and tournaments</p> </li><li> <p>Carries out other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Executive Director, Athletics, Wellness & Recreation</p> </li><li> <p>May be responsible for transporting student athletes in College-rented vehicles within the scope of departmental functions. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.</p> </li><li> <p>Late afternoon practice; weekend games and travel.</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Note: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 01, with a Minimum Hiring Rate of: $15.45/ hour.</p> <p>If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
