<p>Job Description:</p> <p>ANTICIPATED START DATE: 8/11/2025</p> <p>LOCATION: Affton Early Childhood Center</p> <p>DETAILS: 9.5-month support staff positions, with district-recognized holidays and paid sick and personal leave. These are full-time, 37.5 hours per week positions, with district provided benefits packages that include employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.</p> <p>COMPENSATION: According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Certified Staff Assistant and Staff Assistant ranges. Those with a Teaching Certification will begin on Level G, Step 1 starting at $19.96 hourly. Those with a Substitute Certification will begin on Level B, Step 1 starting at $15.94 hourly. Placement within the ranges on the Support Staff Pay Schedule are determined by like experience and education.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: To assist the administration by providing support to school educational programs through providing appropriate classroom supports, activities and learning environment in order that students may learn effectively and experience a smoothly functioning program.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or equivalent is required </li><li>In addition to a high school diploma, one of the following is required to obtain a Substitute Certification: </li><li></li><li>60 college credit hours, </li><li>Associate's degree or higher, </li><li>Missouri ParaPro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013), </li><li>Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (after September 23, 2013), or </li><li>Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program </li></ul> <p>Pursuant to DESE requirements, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) supports the 20-hour substitute training program as an allowable qualification for paraprofessionals who meet the requirements found in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) (PL 107-110).</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in a school setting is preferred </li><li>Prior experience working with children is preferred </li><li>Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, email, etc. is preferred </li><li>Prior experience with office equipment (copying machine and scanner) is preferred </li><li>The ability to listen well and respond to questions from students in a professional manner is required </li><li>The ability to redirect and interact positively with students is required </li><li>The ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond to situations in a calm, caring manner is required </li><li>The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required </li><li>The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with staff is required </li><li>The ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community is required </li><li>The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required </li><li>The willingness to learn new material and, as needed, attend professional development is required </li></ul> <p>For more information regarding ECE Staff Assistant duties and responsibilities, please view the ECE Staff Assistant Job Description.</p> <p>All applicants must apply through Affton's TalentEd Hire website at:</p> <p>https://affton.tedk12.com/hire</p> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
