<p>Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>Entry-Level (Foundational)</p> <p>Work Experience Description:</p> <p>Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Willes Center for International Entrepreneurship is seeking a creative and organized Marketing Specialist to oversee all marketing efforts for the Center, including its flagship business competitions. This position offers a comprehensive experience in various aspects of marketing, providing an excellent opportunity for students to build a robust skill set in a dynamic and supportive environment.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <p>Marketing Strategy and Planning</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the goals of the Willes Center and BYU-Hawaii's mission. </li><li>Manage the marketing calendar to ensure timely promotion of events, competitions, and other initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Content Creation and Graphic Design</p> <ul> <li>Create engaging content for social media, print, and digital platforms that effectively communicates the Willes Center's mission and events. </li><li>Design marketing materials, including posters, flyers, social media graphics, and digital ads, ensuring consistency with university branding guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Social Media Management</p> <ul> <li>Regularly post and monitor content across all relevant social media platforms, engaging with the audience and responding to inquiries. </li><li>Track and analyze social media performance to optimize content and strategies for better engagement. </li></ul> <p>Event Promotion and Awareness</p> <ul> <li>Stay informed about university and Willes Center events, ensuring they are effectively promoted to target audiences. </li><li>Coordinate marketing efforts with University Branding and University Communications teams to ensure alignment and maximize reach. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Communication</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Willes Center Manager to align marketing efforts with the Center's goals and objectives. </li><li>Collaborate with other departments, including University Communications, to enhance marketing outreach and ensure message consistency. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assist in organizing and promoting interviews, live streams, and other media opportunities. </li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends and best practices, applying them to the Center's marketing initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Express, Canva) and content creation tools. </li><li>Strong understanding of social media platforms and content strategies. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency. </li></ul> <p>Commitment Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must commit to working 19 hours per week across two semesters (Fall and Winter). </li><li>Cannot participate as a competitor in the Great Ideas or Empower Your Dreams competitions during employment. </li><li>Must be available to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends during key events. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Gain broad marketing experience, including social media management, content creation, graphic design, print, and digital marketing, interviews, and live streams. </li><li>Learn about entrepreneurship and gain exposure to real-world business practices. </li><li>Build a strong portfolio with diverse marketing projects. </li><li>Work closely with experienced professionals and expand your professional network. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <p>Current student at BYU-Hawaii, ideally pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field. Preferred but not required.</p> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>Previous experience in marketing, social media management, or graphic design is preferred but not required.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Varies based on student job type: Clerk/Cashier/General Office: Air-conditioned office environment with minimal physical effort.</p> <p>Base Rate Per Hour:</p> <p>14.50</p> <ul> <li>Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations </li><li>Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks </li></ul>
