Teachers at The Dayton Regional STEM Elementary are responsible for bringing our mission to life, fostering each student's innate curiosity and joy of discovery. Our teachers prepare students to become excellent questioners, scientific thinkers, and responsible citizens, who are able to contribute to the world with confidence and character.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree by start date </li><li>Teaching license or alternative license secured by start date </li><li>Outstanding communication and collaborative skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Experience as a K - 5 grade teacher </li><li>Experience with project based learning instructional strategies </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>75% Planning and delivering course instruction for elementary school students</p> <ul> <li>Provide instruction, support and supervision to elementary school students </li><li>Foster a motivating, supportive, learning-centered culture of excellence in a well-structured and managed classroom </li><li>Use project-based and inquiry-based methodologies in middle school introduction </li><li>Model appropriate interpersonal and communication skills in interactions with students and co-workers </li></ul> <p>20% - Collaborate with other teachers to develop and refine content and materials for courses</p> <ul> <li>Make use of instructional resources and technologies and proactively contribute to the development of the school and assigned class to improve the educational quality of its students </li><li>Engage in continuous and sustained reflection on teaching practices and leadership behaviors, and adapt methods as needed to achieve school goals and performance objectives </li><li>Participate in building leadership activities and be a team player </li><li>Participate in the curriculum development process throughout employment </li></ul> <p>5%- Participate in various meetings (including IEPs, conferences, etc.) and Professional Development opportunities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain contact and communication with parents and students and work with them in development of each student </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions</p> <p>Length of contract is one year contingent upon funding.Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.</p> <p>To preserve the safety and security of the campus community and to maintain the integrity of university operations, it is the policy of Wright State University before making an employment offer at the final stage to verify whether a job applicant has a criminal record.
