<p>Job Title: Girls High School Varsity Basketball Head Coach</p> <p>Location: Northridge High School, Johnstown, Ohio</p> <p>Position Type: Coaching/Supplemental</p> <p>Reports To: Athletic Director</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Northridge High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach to lead and develop a competitive high school basketball program. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity basketball practices, games, and team activities </li><li>Develop and implement offensive and defensive strategies </li><li>Promote a positive team culture emphasizing discipline, respect, and accountability </li><li>Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete success in the classroom </li><li>Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches and program staff </li><li>Ensure compliance with all Ohio high school athletic association rules and school policies </li><li>Coordinate scheduling, travel, equipment, and program logistics </li><li>Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration </li><li>Organize offseason training, conditioning, and skill development opportunities </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous coaching experience (high school or higher preferred) </li><li>Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development </li><li>Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes </li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills </li><li>Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful team environment </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio coaching permit or ability to obtain one </li><li>Completion of required certifications (CPR, First Aid, concussion training, etc.) </li><li>Successful background check in accordance with Ohio law </li><li>Availability for practices, games, and team events (including evenings and weekends) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior head coaching experience </li><li>Experience working within a school-based athletic program </li><li>Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Stipend based on experience and district pay scale </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit:</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover letter </li><li>References </li></ul> <p>Applications can be sent to: Kevin Jarrett, Athletic Director, at kjarrett@northridgevikings.org</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Northridge Local Schools is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.</p>
