<p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking qualified and motivated Assistant Coaches to support the development of student-athletes across district athletic programs. Assistant Coaches work under the direction of the Head Coach and Athletic Director to help implement the program's vision and mission, promote academic and athletic excellence, and foster the overall growth of student-athletes. The Assistant Coach provides instruction, supervision, and mentorship to ensure students develop skills to succeed in athletics, academics, and life.</p> <p>Reports to: Head Coach based on Sport</p> <p>Supervises: None</p> <p>Pay Grade: Stipend based on Sport</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive coaching program aligned with district and school goals. </li><li>Use a variety of instructional techniques and coaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of student-athletes. </li><li>Instruct and coach student-athletes to improve sport-specific skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. </li><li>Supervise and manage practice sessions, competitions, and athletic events to ensure a safe and positive environment. </li><li>Collaborate with school staff to support the academic progress and overall educational development of student-athletes. </li><li>Establish and communicate performance expectations and assist in evaluating student-athlete progress on an ongoing basis. </li><li>Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, facilities, and materials. </li><li>Monitor and support compliance with eligibility requirements for extracurricular participation. </li><li>Assist with scheduling competitions and coordinating logistics in collaboration with the Athletic Director and Head Coach. </li><li>Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the athletic program and support continuous improvement efforts. </li><li>Accompany and supervise student-athletes during competitions, including out-of-town events, when assigned. </li><li>Enforce student discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, student handbook, and district policies. </li><li>Promote and model sportsmanlike conduct at all times. </li><li>Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, students, administrators, and staff. </li><li>Assist with the selection, inventory, care, cleaning, storage, and maintenance of athletic equipment and materials. </li><li>Compile and maintain required records, reports, and documentation related to the athletic program. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of coaching principles, techniques, and procedures </li><li>Ability to effectively instruct, motivate, and supervise student-athletes </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and administrators </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and/or compliance with MSHSAA requirements for athletic coaches </li><li>Successful completion of all district, state, and MSHSAA coaching requirements </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENT</p> <p>Physical demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
