This role focuses on safeguarding research data, intellectual property, and compliance with federal regulations, including export controls, and risk mitigation related to foreign influence. Candidate will address cybersecurity policy implementation and federal requirements. The position will work closely with faculty, researchers, IT security, and legal teams to promote a secure and collaborative research environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Research Security & Compliance:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement research security policies aligned with federal and </li></ul> <p>institutional regulations (e.g., NSPM-33, CUI, export controls).</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with federal funding agency security requirements (e.g., </li></ul> <p>NIH, NSF, DOE, DOD).</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with IT security to safeguard sensitive research data and </li></ul> <p>intellectual property.</p> <p>Training & Awareness:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct research security training sessions and develop resources for faculty, </li></ul> <p>researchers, and students on research integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance</p> <p>best practices.</p> <ul> <li>Provide guidance on responsible international collaborations and best </li></ul> <p>practices for securing research data.</p> <p>Risk Mitigation & Foreign Influence Safeguards:</p> <ul> <li>Assess risks related to foreign influence in research and develop mitigation </li></ul> <p>strategies while promoting an inclusive research environment.</p> <ul> <li>Monitor evolving federal research security guidelines and update. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk. </li><li>May require lifting. </li><li>Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally. </li><li>Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., research administration, cybersecurity, law, public policy, or science/engineering).</p> <p>Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in research security, compliance, export controls, cybersecurity, or a related field.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:</p> <p>Knowledge of federal research security requirements (e.g., NSPM-33, Controlled Unclassified</p> <p>Information (CUI), NIST 800- 171).</p> <p>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.</p> <p>Strong communication and training skills to engage faculty and researchers.</p> <p>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.</p> <p>Additional Job Details</p> <p>Required Application Materials: Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and a list of names of three current professional references (current or past supervisor) including e-mail address, and telephone number (current supervisor will not be contacted without the candidate's prior consent).
