<p>Summary: The International Baccalaureate HS Lead Teacher functions as an academic leader in instruction and specializes in supporting teaching and learning. Primary responsibility includes oversight and administration of a high school IB programme. The Lead Teacher collaborates with administration, academic department chairs, and IB teachers to ensure that implementation of the IB Diploma Programme is in alignment with IB standards and academic goals and curriculum requirements. Key areas of responsibility include leadership, administrative support and supervision of IB curriculum and pedagogy.</p> <p>Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)</p> <ul> <li>Leads the IB programme at the school level, serving as the chief point of contact regarding IB for all stakeholders. </li><li>Works with the central and school administrations to maintain the authorization of the school with the IBO through IB's prescribed self-evaluation process. </li><li>Serves as the liaison between the IBO and the school, disseminating information to teachers and students in a timely basis. </li><li>Coordinates training opportunities for IB teachers and provides on-site support for classroom instruction. </li><li>Registers students for IB examinations, submits IB internal assessment components, and administers IB examinations. </li><li>Conducts regular meetings with IB teachers. </li><li>Provides support and information to teachers new to IB, especially in pedagogy and assessment. </li><li>Ensures that all students are clear about the requirements of the IB Diploma Programme and are updated as changes arise; advises students on subject selection. </li><li>Informs 9th and 10th grade students about the IB requirements. </li><li>Accommodates transfer students and liaises with their former schools. </li><li>Monitors students' progress and coordinates support for those experiencing difficulty. </li><li>Provides comprehensive information to parents about the IB Programme. </li><li>Organizes parent meetings to advise parents on the suitability of the IB Programme for their child(ren), informs parents about the requirements, notifies parents about their child(ren)'s progress. </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>Minimum</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education </li></ul> <p>Desired</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in education </li><li>NC AIG Certification </li></ul> <p>Licensing / Certification Requirements: NC Teaching License</p>
