<p>The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.</p> <p>Learn more about Louisiana Department of Health</p> <p>This position may be filled in the following parishes: East Baton Rouge Parish</p> <p>Play a vital role in protecting community health as an Administrative Coordinator 4 in a public health laboratory. As a key member of the Accessioning and Receiving team, you'll support life-saving newborn screening efforts, manage clinical sample intake and data entry, coordinate with statewide courier services, and help ensure laboratories have the supplies they need to operate smoothly. This fast-paced position offers meaningful, behind-the-scenes impact on critical public health services and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in an essential support role.</p> <p>An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:</p> <p>Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions.</p> <p>Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes.</p> <p>Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.</p> <p>Managing Resources: The ability to manage financial, physical, and contractual resources to ensure compliance and maximize business value.</p> <p>Three years of experience in administrative services.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates the daily operations of statewide laboratory courier used for the transport of </li><li>Environmental and Clinical samples. This includes reconciling daily courier logs and ensuring sample integrity and sample count. Communicate with the courier dispatch to resolve sample transport issues, track the origin of the issue and initiate an investigation for timely resolution. </li><li>Maintain an adequate supply of the data loggers, Active Transport coolers, thermometers and ensures their certificates are valid and in compliance. Maintain the driver audits for accreditation compliance. </li><li>Procure goods for the OPH Lab Support Services Department in accordance with state procurement rules and regulations.
