<p>Summary:</p> <p>The Quality Technician I is responsible for performing timely quality checks on raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products. This includes inspection, laboratory analysis, organoleptic evaluation, and verification of packaging quality to ensure product consistency and compliance with food safety standards.</p> <p>Functions Of The Position.</p> <p>Product and Packaging Analysis</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conducts analysis on processing and packaging goods, including visual inspection, organoleptic evaluation, weight, size, mix, moisture, water activity, and salt testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Packaging duties include:</p> </li><li> <p>Testing packaging integrity and quality (oxygen, vacuum, leaker, quantity, weight)</p> </li><li> <p>Verification of product type, label accuracy, date codes, lids, and over-cap color</p> </li><li> <p>Metal detector compliance testing</p> </li><li> <p>ATP testing for sanitation verification</p> </li><li> <p>Pre-operational inspections of packaging lines</p> </li><li> <p>Enters analytical data, product holds, and equipment checkout information.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares samples for analysis in coordination with the R&D laboratory.</p> </li><li> <p>Places products on hold when results fall outside specification.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Food quality experience required. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to taste snack products and nut varieties.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic math proficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate calculators, analytical scales, salt/moisture/oxygen analyzers, water activity meters, and color meters.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to climb stairs and ladders.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in high-temperature environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>JBSS is an Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or status as a protected veteran.</p>
