<p>In coordination with Rolling Hills Local Schools, the East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a tutor for the after school program at Cedar Ridge. Tutors work with students to provide educational support in reading and mathematics by using a variety of techniques including hands-on activities, technology, field trips and small group instruction to build upon the lessons taught in the traditional classroom setting.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio license or permit appropriate for the assignment </li><li>Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment </li><li>Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The following duties and responsibilities are representative of performance expectations, but are not considered all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as necessary. A reasonable accommodation may be to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions:</p> <ul> <li>Creates and implements lesson plans that include reading and math development, character development, physical activity, and enrichment activities </li><li>Tutors small groups of students to develop their cognitive abilities and improve upon their academic skills </li><li>Works to build student self-esteem and motivation through positive reinforcement </li><li>Collaborates with school staff to develop positive relationships with students and align learning strategies with academic goals </li><li>Prepares and implements enrichment activities in coordination with the 21st Century Site Coordinator </li><li>Provides a positive learning environment for students requiring flexibility and patience </li><li>Analyzes student performance and provides reports on student progress </li><li>Meets with parents and/or student's teacher as needed </li></ul> <p>Additional Details:</p> <p>Up to 5 hours per week</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to Nanette McFadden, Executive Director of HR via email - nanette.mcfadden@ecoesc.org.</p>
