This position is responsible for coordinating the resource allocation and maintenance of the rolling mill assets and providing support to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage union and salary maintenance staff to work safely, minimize downtime, implement preventive maintenance programs, and insure proper work completion </li><li>Coordinate work scheduling with maintenance planning and CMMS system </li><li>Complete projects and collaborate with contractors and vendors </li><li>Work with the different teams in a Manufacturing Unit on issues such as equipment down-time, reliability, planned maintenance and troubleshooting. </li><li>Assist the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader with long term department planning and day to day operation of the maintenance teams. </li><li>Ensure employee development, which includes coordination and participation in Skill Based Pay, annual employee review activities and continuous improvement opportunities. </li><li>Work with associate maintenance leaders to develop union technician abilities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>5 - 10 years of prior maintenance leadership experience </li><li>Working knowledge of: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Team based management, Maintenance planning and scheduling </li><li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years' experience as a maintenance supervisor, maintenance manager or equivalent in aluminum industry </li><li>Experience with hot and cold rolling mills, aluminum finishing equipment and aluminum industry </li><li>Experience in union environment </li></ul> <p>What We Offer:</p> <p>Novelis' benefits say a lot about how we care for each other. The Recycling mill prepares scrap aluminum that is used in the rolling mill to create rolled aluminum coils to a desired gauge. Anneals temper the aluminum then it is leveled and sized to customer specification.
