<p>Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist</p> <p>The incumbent understands general x-ray, surgery/OR and specialty imaging areas (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and/or Interventional Radiology), the workflow and methods of image acquisition. The incumbent provides back up duties of the Imaging PACS Coordinator.</p> <p>The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. For more information, refer to Required Documents below.</p> <p>VA Careers - Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist: https://youtube.com/embed/I-4ku5UMvWM</p> <p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional</p> <p>Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Performs Vista Radiology (or future EHRM/RIS systems) and PACS support activities and general ADPAC duties within Imaging Service and coordinates support throughout the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System. Ensures that all responsibilities are fulfilled in an efficient, timely, and satisfactory manner. Provides images on CD or electronic transfer of images outside the VA for Community Care appointments. Imports images from outside facilities into VACI PACS for continuing care. </li><li>Instructs users in proper operation or work around, and initiates and coordinates repair requests with bio-med as needed. When systems fail to respond to established procedures, consults with technical manuals to arrive at a resolution. Assists bio-medical technician to investigate system malfunctions to determine the cause. Contacts vendor representatives to determine the cause of problems that do not respond to available problem-solving techniques. Monitors equipment controlling environment and executes emergency procedures in case of natural or man-made disasters and security risk situations. </li><li>Provides training to radiologists and technologists in proper and efficient use of imaging hardware and software and in use of PACS, VR, Vista and CPRS software. Provides guidance and training to PACS users outside of radiology. </li><li>Coordinates activities with Biomedical personnel assigned to Imaging, Vista Imaging users (or future RIS/HIS systems), and support personnel on computer-related matters to ensure that all issues are adequately addressed, and interface activities are conducted as effectively and efficiently as possible. Attends local and VISN phone calls related to PACS operations in the absence of the PACS coordinator. </li><li>Teamwork is required. Accomplishment of duties and responsibilities depends upon a culture of teamwork, cooperation, and identification with the purposes of the team. Members of the team associated with this position, but not limited to, are the Imaging Manager, Radiologists, Information Technology (IT) personnel and Bio-Medical personnel. The paramount focus of the team association is the accomplishment of the Medical Center's mission/patient satisfaction. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM.
