<p>Calista Corporation</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>The Payroll Lead - Construction is primarily responsible for all accounting functions related to payroll and tax areas across all companies. The Payroll Lead - Construction ensures that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner and addresses tight deadlines.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the performance and completion of the weekly payroll process. </li><li>Responsible for entering and updating employee information in the computerized payroll system files, including general information, withholding, reporting, and deduction files. </li><li>Responsible for weekly data migration between Workday and Spectrum and data </li></ul> <p>validation in Spectrum.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for updating and maintaining paid time off accruals and adjustments. </li><li>Completes monthly reconciliation of all payroll liability accounts for financial reporting. </li><li>Overall responsibility for workers comp and general liability reporting and payment. </li><li>Overall responsibility for certified payroll reporting and union reporting. </li><li>Responsible for quarterly tax calculation, reporting and payment. </li><li>Maintains the reconciliation for all employee loans. </li><li>Responsible for processing and maintenance of state tax payments and reporting. </li><li>Oversees payroll payment processing and ACH approval. </li><li>Assists with month-end recurring journal entries as needed. </li><li>Assists with reconciliation and review of other accounting functions as needed. </li><li>Assist in preparation for the annual audit of financial statements. </li><li>Assist in internal audit procedures. </li><li>Cross-train in other financial areas. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in computerized accounting, e-mail, electronic spreadsheet development and word processing. </li><li>Knowledge of, and experience with, generally accepted accounting principles. </li><li>Ability to maintain a high attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to organize and perform under multiple deadlines. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and varied topics at the same time. </li><li>Advanced training in excel preferred. </li><li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality with employee information and communications. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; and, minimum of five years of payroll experience; two of those years' in a payroll lead capacity, required; equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. </li><li>Experience working for a large company, or another Native Corporation preferred. </li><li>Minimum two years' experience with multistate payroll, certified payrolls and union reporting. </li><li>Construction industry payroll experience preferred. </li><li>Viewpoint Spectrum or other integrated software experience preferred. </li><li>Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check. </li></ul> <p>PREFERENCE STATEMENT</p> <p>Preference will be given to Calista shareholders and their descendants and to spouses of Calista shareholders, and to shareholders of other corporations created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, in accordance with Title 43 U.S. Code 1626(g).</p> <p>EEO STATEMENT</p> <p>Additionally, it is our policy to select, place, train and promote the most qualified individuals based upon relevant factors such as work quality, attitude and experience, so as to provide equal employment opportunity for all employees in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and without regard to non-work related factors such as race, color, religion/creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship, genetic information, or other protected status.
