Learn more through this link: Benefits Package. </p> <p>So, if you're interested in a great job working alongside great people, this may be the opportunity for which you've been waiting for.</p> <p>Job Summary: Our Plumbing department operates, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical plumbing systems related to the plumbing trade for classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms and other spaces in the buildings of the Auraria Higher Education Center. This work unit is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, modification and operation of the mechanical systems related to the plumbing trade. </p> <p>This position is part of the Labor, Trades and Crafts state classification series and will assist plumbers with maintaining, repairing and installation with plumbing equipment in the classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms and other spaces in the buildings. </p> <p>Essential Functions: Plumbing Corrective Maintenance: </p> <ul> <li>Assist plumbers with inspections and maintenance of equipment for proper operation. </li><li>Work with plumbers and other staff to understand mechanical and plumbing systems and related equipment to learn how to identify potential operational and maintenance problems before they occur. </li><li>Notifies shop supervisor of any problems, works with Plumber to gather information and associated documentation to support the identification of solutions to remedy the problems. </li><li>Assist plumbers with the acquisition of parts and materials and work under the supervision of Plumber (PMT III) to employ the correct tools and equipment, to assist with or perform the repair or replacement of equipment in a timely manner. </li><li>Dispose of broken parts and equipment in an approved manner and cleans work area when work Is complete to maintain a safe work environment. </li><li>Support plumbers with the estimation of labor and material for the repair or replacement of equipment as requested. </li><li>Submits information for record keeping so that all repair and maintenance records can be kept up to date. </li><li>Support contractor and vendor activity so that work will be completed when needed, including access and coordination efforts. </li></ul> <p>Preventative Maintenance: </p> <ul> <li>Implement preventative maintenance tasks on equipment on a regularly scheduled basis. </li><li>Observe, practice and demonstrate trade knowledge and skills to determine the correct parts and materials while using the proper tools and test equipment to restore equipment to optimum performance. </li><li>Update equipment detail lists for TMA to include materials and supplies needed to perform preventative maintenance on equipment. </li></ul> <p>Planning and Customer Service: </p> <ul> <li>Plan, meet and coordinate facility maintenance activities with the supervisor and others. Interact daily to ensure operations and maintenance functions are well planned and coordinated so as to minimize inconvenience to the customers. </li><li>Assist supervisor and others with deficiency tracking related to plumbing systems and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Response, Special Events and Other duties:</p> <ul> <li>Participates and assists in emergencies based on magnitude and nature. </li><li>Supports various special events both in preparation and during the event. </li><li>May be assigned to other duties such as snow removal during an active weather event. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications: </p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Must have a valid unencumbered Colorado drivers license. </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment: </p> <ul> <li>Must maintain a valid and unencumbered Colorado driver license. </li><li>Please note that if offered employment, candidates will be required to furnish a copy of the motor vehicle report (MVR) as part of the background check process. </li></ul> <p>Appeal Rights: If you receive notice that you have been eliminated from consideration for this position, you may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board or request a review by the State Personnel Director.</p> <p> </p> <p>An appeal or review must be submitted on the official appeal form, signed by you or your representative.
