Bonide stands tall as a recognized and respected industry leader, reflecting the trust and admiration we have earned from gardening enthusiasts across the country!</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for securing the company's supply base as a competitive advantage, delivering sustainable cost performance, uninterrupted material availability, and supplier readiness in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role sets strategies across raw materials, packaging, and indirect spending, translating market dynamics into commercial agreements that protect margin, ensure quality compliance, and strengthen supply continuity.</p> <p>Accountability is measured in outcomes: realized savings and cost-avoidance, improved service and lead-time reliability, reduced single-source exposure, and faster, lower-risk execution of change from new product launches to formulation and packaging updates. The role leads supplier governance and performance recovery when issues arise, builds credible contingency plans, and provides forward-looking cost outlooks and inflation exposure to guide business decisions. Success requires hands-on leadership of buyers, disciplined sourcing processes, and the influence to drive fact-based trade-offs across Operations, Quality, R&D, and Finance.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Strategic Sourcing & Category Management</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend. </li><li>Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and long-term commercial agreements. </li><li>Partner with suppliers to identify innovation, cost reduction, and service improvement opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Supplier Risk & Governance</p> <ul> <li>Assess and mitigate supplier risk through dual sourcing, redundancy planning, and contingency strategies. </li><li>Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory, quality, and ethical sourcing standards. </li><li>Lead supplier performance management and corrective action planning. </li><li>Own supplier-related business continuity planning. </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Lead sourcing decisions supporting new product introductions, formulation changes, and packaging redesigns. </li><li>Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Commercial teams to evaluate cost, service, and risk trade-offs. </li><li>Provide Finance with forward-looking cost outlooks, inflation exposure, and sourcing-driven savings plans. </li></ul> <p>Leadership & Capability Building</p> <ul> <li>Lead, coach, and develop Buyers and purchasing staff. </li><li>Establish clear sourcing governance, decision rights, and operating processes. </li><li>Continuously improve sourcing tools, analytics, and supplier management practices. </li></ul> <p>Additional duties as assigned.</p> <p>SKILLS & ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or related field. </li><li>7+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or category management. </li><li>Demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations and managing complex supplier portfolios. </li><li>Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills. </li><li>Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders & lead through ambiguity. </li><li>Preferred: </li><li>Experience in CPG, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environments. </li><li>Experience building or transforming sourcing functions. </li></ul> <p>Annual Salary: $113,000 - $119,000</p> <p>An essential element of Bonide culture is our commitment to diversity.
