<p>About Matchbook Learning</p> <p>Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operate two schools: Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and The Match High School and Career Center, which currently serves 9th and 10th grade students and will expand to include 11th grade students in the fall of 2026.</p> <p>Our mission is to personalize learning, within a restorative community, fostering resilience and excellence while preparing students for real-world opportunities. As an innovative and inclusive organization, we are committed to ensuring that every child is known, loved, and flourishing.</p> <p>Matchbook Learning is seeking a Temporary Instructional Assistant to support teachers and school staff in our K-8 learning environment. This is an hourly, entry-level position expected to run through June, with the possibility of extension depending on school needs. Continued employment into the next school year is possible but not guaranteed.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Instructional Assistant provides classroom and instructional support to teachers and students. This role includes assisting with small group instruction, preparing materials, grading, data entry, and general classroom support. The assistant works under the direction of teachers and school leadership and does not serve as a lead instructor.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers with small group instruction and classroom activities </li><li>Prepare instructional materials, including making copies and organizing resources </li><li>Support grading of assignments and assessments as directed </li><li>Enter and organize student data using school systems and spreadsheets </li><li>Provide basic student supervision during instructional activities </li><li>Support classroom routines and transitions as needed </li><li>Follow directions and established procedures from teachers and school leadership </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times </li></ul> <p>Technology & Computer Skills</p> <ul> <li>Basic to intermediate computer skills required </li><li>Ability to use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms) or similar platforms </li><li>Ability to input data accurately and efficiently </li><li>Willingness to learn school-based software systems (training provided) </li></ul> <p>Schedule & Pay</p> <ul> <li>Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. </li><li>Pay: $25/hour </li><li>Term: Temporary through June </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Experience working with children or youth in a school, childcare, tutoring, or similar setting preferred </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team </li><li>Reliable attendance and professionalism </li><li>Must pass a background check </li></ul> <p>Important Notes</p> <ul> <li>This is a support role, not a lead teaching position </li><li>You will work under the supervision of licensed teachers and school staff </li><li>Training and guidance will be provided </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <ul> <li>Interested candidates should submit their resume to https://www.matchbooklearning.com/join-our-team </li></ul> <p>Matchbook Learning is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
