This internship offers the opportunity to work on the development of a precision electromechanical system, supporting the project from concept generation through design, assembly, controls integration, and testing. The intern will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers and will present project outcomes at the conclusion of the internship.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop mechanical concepts, CAD models, and detailed drawings for a precision tilting system </li><li>Build and integrate mechanical, electrical, and control elements into a working prototype </li><li>Assist with component selection, fabrication coordination, assembly, and installation </li><li>Develop and refine software for system control and operator interaction </li><li>Support PLC and HMI implementation where applicable </li><li>Perform testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of system functionality </li><li>Document design updates, test results, and implementation progress </li><li>Present final project results to the team </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field </li><li>Completed at least the 3rd year of an engineering degree program by the start of the internship </li><li>Experience with CAD for mechanical design and drawing creation </li><li>Hands-on experience building, assembling, or prototyping mechanical or electromechanical systems </li><li>Programming experience in at least one relevant language such as C/C++ or Python </li><li>Interest in controls, automation, HMI, or PLC-based systems </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software </li><li>Experience with embedded controls, Arduino, LabVIEW, PLCs, or similar platforms </li><li>Familiarity with sensors, actuators, motors, and basic electrical integration </li><li>Experience supporting prototype testing, troubleshooting, and design improvement </li></ul> <p>Personal Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaborate with a cross-functional team </li><li>Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities </li><li>Quick learner with an aptitude for new systems and technologies </li><li>Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented </li><li>Able to maintain a consistent schedule during standard business hours </li><li>Reliable transportation </li></ul>
