Dewitt, Radisson, Camillus, Fulton, Oswego - Travel between sites.</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Specialist or Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to preschool children with behavioral challenges.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work with the preschool teams to provide training, support, and coordination of activities within the preschool setting related to the implementation of Positive Behavioral Support </li><li>Assist with the behavioral needs of all students enrolled. </li><li>Work with specific children according to their behavioral concerns, which includes implementing positive behavior support techniques and behavior intervention plans. </li><li>Coach classroom staff and therapy/special education team in specific behavioral strategies. </li><li>Follow all federal, state and local laws governing preschool & childcare standards and privacy regulations </li><li>Work location is preschool classroom sites including Oswego, Fulton, Baldwinsville, East Syracuse, and Camillus, occasional travel to Pulaski. </li></ul> <p>Job Type: Part Time; Monday through Friday</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Physically able to bend/stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, push/pull, reach above and below shoulder level frequently and move about quickly. </li><li>Independently lift up to 50 lbs up to five (5) times/day. </li><li>Exposed to bites, kicks, punches, spitting and other physical behaviors of children with special needs. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid New York State Driver License & Reliable Transportation </li><li>Early Childhood, Special Education, Behavior College coursework/Degree preferred </li><li>Experience working with young children with significant behavioral needs. </li><li>Previous experience working with early childhood individuals with behavioral challenges in classroom settings. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Positive attitude and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team model </li><li>Ability to model and coach behavior management strategies effectively </li><li>Certification preferred. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written </li></ul> <p>If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of preschool children with special needs & behavior challenges, we encourage you to apply for the Behavior Support Specialist job with Little Lukes.
