LCD is made up of the Legal, Regulatory Relations, and Non-Financial Risk departments which preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that are designed to meet regulatory requirements around the world. We also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.</p> <p>Non-Financial Risk Organization Overview:</p> <p>The second- line Non-Financial Risk NFR organization includes the Compliance, Global Financial Crimes, and Operational Risk departments and provides a single, comprehensive, and consistent second-line view of these non-financial risks. Non-Financial Risk encompasses risks which are not financial in nature, and could have a potential economic, reputational, regulatory, financial reporting, or client impact from (i) failed or inadequate processes, data, or controls; ii) infrastructure or environmental factors; or iii) intentional or inadvertent actions of employees or external parties. The second-line NFR organization partners with the first-line business units to advise, train, manage, report, identify, analyze, and escalate non-financial risks.</p> <p>Team Profile: Data Quality is a multidisciplinary team which aims to reduce the Firm's exposure to Data Quality risk.</p> <p>Role Overview: The role will focus on Data Quality (DQ) Risk Management under the Firm's DQ Program. The selected candidate will be expected to complete risk assessments and oversee the data risk reduction efforts put in place for the deliverables and data considered key by the Divisions and, as such, prioritized per policy, further providing credible challenge throughout this process. The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with stakeholders from multiple teams, such as in-business data officers in Divisional Date Office (DDO), data scientists and analysts from our tooling specialists in our Firmwide Data Office (FDO), as well as other peer teams within the DGO (Information Management, Privacy, AIML Governance), and risk assessment specialists in NFR Infrastructure.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>> Represent Data Governance Office in data and information risk forums, as well as other non-DQ forums, as required.</p> <p>> Help promote Data Governance Office interests and support its leadership in governance forums covering Data Quality.</p> <p>> Provide Data Governance Office leadership on Data Quality Implementation working groups.</p> <p>> Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations for transitioning to a more data-centric environment.</p> <p>> Provide subject matter expertise on foundational topics such as data and information inventories and metadata tagging.</p> <p>> Help maintain data and information policy documents and envision future enhancements.</p> <p>> Devise methods to apply the Data Quality Program framework to data and information related risks.</p> <p>> Build and maintain strong positive relationships with key Data Quality stakeholders.</p> <p>> Communicate with our stakeholders effectively, actively listening to them and coordinating work.</p> <p>> Devise methods to apply the Data Quality Program framework to metrics and monitoring.</p> <p>> Train other team members as well as other Data Quality risk officers on metrics. > Bachelor's Degree minimum.</p> <p>> A minimum of 8 years' experience in data and information risk, data governance, data architecture, or enterprise data modeling is required, preferably in the financial industry.</p> <p>> Strong knowledge of the data lifecycle and common approaches to data quality, including prioritization.</p> <p>> Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools with proven experience.</p> <p>> Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</p> <p>> Ability to present complex issues clearly is essential.</p> <p>> Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to influence and catalyze decisions from senior management.</p> <p>> Strong leadership and project management skills.</p> <p>> Displayed ability to influence stakeholders and drive projects through to completion.</p> <p>> Demonstrate leadership skills.</p> <p>> Previous experience in driving the adoption of new programs and processes is a plus.</p> <p>WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:</p> <p>We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
