To have maximum impact on student learning, educators must develop and evolve along with their students. The 27J Schools Induction Program helps set the stage for continuous growth and support of educators at the beginning of their careers or as they transition from another organization.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>The purpose of the 27J mentoring program is to help new educators build collaborative relationships and a sense of connection to the school community and their values. We do this so that all educators have a safe place to be vulnerable, demonstrate a growth mindset, and have opportunities to problem-solve, which will promote self-awareness and educator ownership. We will foster the growth and development of our mentors as professionals.</p> <p>Salary: Stipend for off-contract hours of work within the program, outside the duty day. (TBD)</p> <p>Goals:</p> <ul> <li>Develop a sense of ownership and empowerment through leading and participating in a professional learning community. </li><li>Acquire a deeper understanding of 27J Schools and school culture. </li><li>Facilitate understanding of 27J Schools' student achievement goals, The Thinking Classroom, and GELL (Goals, Evidence, Learning Experiences, and Learning Environment). </li><li>Lead and conduct a variety of collaborative learning experiences to build the capacity of newly hired educators. </li><li>Increase educator well-being, teacher retention, and collegiality. </li><li>Establish a communication network that includes new and novice educators, mentors, building leaders, and district personnel. </li></ul> <p>General Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively identify needs of newly hired educators in order to provide timely feedback and appropriate support. </li><li>Build positive, reciprocal relationships with newly hired 27J Schools educators for the purpose of establishing an environment of trust and collaboration as well as providing emotional support. </li><li>Promote a learning environment with intentional sharing of knowledge and practice for the purpose of establishing a growth mindset based on feedback and reflection. </li><li>Communicate with necessary stakeholders to address educator needs and define the conditions and protocols necessary for effective mentoring. </li><li>Attend professional learning sessions designed to grow mentoring skills. </li><li>Meet regularly with mentees and document conversations, including next steps for the purpose of ongoing learning and support with induction requirements. </li><li>Lead monthly learning sessions to address ongoing and upcoming educator needs. </li><li>Model professionalism at all times for the purpose of demonstrating expected behaviors and actions of 27J Schools employees. </li></ul> <p>Links to Important Job Information:</p> <p>Benefits Information</p> <p>Salary Schedules</p> <p>Leaves Information</p> <p>Non-Discrimination Notice</p> <p>All future correspondence will be handled via the email address you provided in your online application.
