<p>Management Trainee - Food & Beverage InterContinental Hotels & Resorts</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>At InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, we believe in True Hospitality for Good. The Food & Beverage Management Trainee program is designed to develop the next generation of hospitality leaders through immersive, hands-on experience in a luxury hotel environment.</p> <p>The Management Trainee will participate in a structured rotational program across Food & Beverage outlets, gaining exposure to restaurant, bar, speakeasy, banquet, and in-room dining operations, while developing leadership, financial acumen, and service excellence in alignment with IHG brand standards and InterContinental luxury service culture.</p> <p>This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a long-term management career within InterContinental and the broader IHG portfolio.</p> <p>Luxury Operations & Service Excellence</p> <ul> <li>Rotate through all Food & Beverage outlets, including restaurant, bar, speakeasy, banquets, and in-room dining </li><li>Support daily operations to deliver personalized, intuitive, and refined guest experiences </li><li>Learn and uphold InterContinental brand standards, SOPs, and quality assurance requirements </li><li>Learn about the CBA in place </li><li>Assist with opening and closing procedures, floor leadership, and operational problem-solving </li></ul> <p>Leadership Development & Team Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Participate in pre-shift meetings and contribute to daily operational communications </li><li>Support training and development initiatives for frontline colleagues </li><li>Learn effective leadership practices within a union environment </li><li>Observe and develop skills in coaching, performance management, and colleague engagement </li><li>Promote a culture of respect, collaboration, safety, and inclusivity </li></ul> <p>Financial & Business Acumen</p> <ul> <li>Gain exposure to labor management, scheduling, payroll controls, and productivity targets </li><li>Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and cost control initiatives </li><li>Learn fundamentals of budgeting, forecasting, and Food & Beverage financial reporting </li><li>Support compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including responsible alcohol service </li></ul> <p>Training & Development Program</p> <ul> <li>Structured rotational program across Food & Beverage department </li><li>Ongoing coaching and mentorship from senior Food & Beverage leaders </li><li>Exposure to cross-functional collaboration (Culinary, Sales & Events, Finance, Human Resources) </li><li>Regular performance feedback and individual development planning </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred </li><li>Prior experience in Food & Beverage or hotel operations strongly preferred </li><li>Internship or supervisory experience in a luxury or upscale environment is an asset </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Passion for luxury hospitality and guest service excellence </li><li>Eligible to work in the United States </li></ul> <p>Physical & Work Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods </li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs </li><li>Ability to work in a dynamic, operational hotel environment </li></ul>
