<p>Duties</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <p>?Screen new students for LEP identification using the WIDA screener</p> <p>?Select Maintain proper certification to administer ACCESS test and WIDA screener</p> <p>?Attend staff meetings at home school</p> <p>?Coordinate schedule to meet with LEP students</p> <p>?Communicate with and assist families when needed.</p> <p>?Provide classroom teachers with the most recent student ACCESS scores and also provide suggested accommodations and modification ideas</p> <p>?Plan lessons according to WIDA Language standards, including social and emotional language, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies</p> <p>?Utilize grade-level state content standards when planning lessons</p> <p>?For TBE (Transitional Bilingual Education) instruction: provide instruction in both English and Spanish. This should include the history and culture of students' native land and the United States</p> <p>?For TPI (Transitional Program of Instruction) instruction: as determined by the student's proficiency, TPI instruction is designed to enable students to keep pace with peers in the core academic content areas</p> <p>?Provide accommodations to make content comprehensible for LEP students</p> <p>?Participate in Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee</p> <p>?Attend IEP meetings of LEP students</p> <p>?Help administer various standardized tests to LEP students (i.e. administer IAR test to LEP students to provide small group and/or other appropriate accommodations)</p> <p>?Interpret for parents and/or teachers or communicate with District Bilingual Parent Liaison or BilingualTeacher's Aide to provide translation services to parents and/or teachers</p> <p>Performs all other duties reasonably related to the position as may be assigned by the Building Administrator or Superintendent.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li>Hold an IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with an ESL </li></ol> <p>Endorsement or Approval and/or Type 3 or Type 29 Certificate with</p> <p>Bilingual as required by the State.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Must be familiar with the use of computers, including but not </li></ol> <p>limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, Google,</p> <p>and electronic spreadsheets.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Establish and maintain effective and courteous working </li></ol> <p>relationships with those contacted in the course of work</p> <p>(students, parents, and staff).</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written </li></ol> <p>instructions.</p> <p>5 .
