<p>Title: Project Engineer, Defense</p> <p>Date: May 15, 2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>South El Monte, US, 91733</p> <p>Company: VACCO Industries</p> <p>Pay Range: $100,674.00 - $134,061.00</p> <p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>Project Engineer, Electrical, Defense Products</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>BSEE preferred, sound electrical and mechanical experience with valves, solenoids, electro-mechanical components, solid modeling (CAD), wiring diagrams, circuits, electrical assembly and test experience.</p> <p>Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li>Lead efforts with cross-functional departments and stakeholders to drive engineering projects through the engineering development process according to schedule and budget. </li><li>Collaborate with a project team including engineers, quality, operations, sales and supply chain </li><li>Solid fundamentals in electrical design, circuits, wiring diagrams </li><li>Create and review new electrical schematics to meet design objectives </li><li>Source electrical components per government and customer specifications </li><li>Prefer experience in the design of mechanical or electrical components and assemblies for naval system applications, fluid control valve technology, and/or electrical and electromechanical systems. </li><li>Experience with product design and process FMEA, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), </li></ul> <p>Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Reliability (DFR) methods</p> <p>and techniques.</p> <p>Specific Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Work with defense customers to understand, define and meet specifications </li><li>Support sales and marketing for new designs to estimate technical scope of work and write technical proposals to accurately communicate the design concept </li><li>Review, analyze, and verify compliance and acceptance of technical specification requirements for naval submarine or defense products </li><li>Schedule and lead design reviews to meet internal engineering development procedures from cradle to grave </li><li>Conceptualize and create new and preliminary designs/layouts using initial 3D CAD tools to convert the specification into product Design using industry standards. </li><li>Perform analysis to validate compliance to technical requirements </li><li>Review electrical and mechanical engineering drawings for approval using GD&T standards and best practice. </li><li>Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality control to take design from concept to production. </li><li>Assemble and test prototype and development hardware and create initial test plans and procedures for qualification and production. </li><li>Write detailed valve and component test procedures to simulate systems and validate performance requirements per defense specifications and guidelines </li></ul> <p>Nearest Major Market: Los Angeles</p>
