<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>The Academic and Transfer Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating academic support and transfer readiness services. The coordinator will assist program participants in achieving academic success, remaining in good academic standing, and transferring to four-year institutions. This position plays a critical role in promoting persistence, retention, and graduation among first-generation, low-income, and disabled college students.</p> <p>Job Functions:</p> <p>Academic Support:</p> <p>Provide individualized academic advising, including assistance with course selection, degree planning, and interpretation of degree audits. Monitor student academic progress through early alerts, midterm grades, and end-of-term reviews to ensure satisfactory academic standing. Coordinate tutoring services, learning workshops (e.g., study skills, time management), and other academic interventions. Support students in developing educational goals, identifying barriers to success, and implementing success strategies. Collaborate with faculty and student services to ensure comprehensive support and timely intervention.</p> <p>'Transfer Services:</p> <p>Develop individualized transfer plans aligned with student goals. Conduct workshops on transfer planning, application processes, and financial aid options for four-year institutions. Organize and lead campus visits to partner universities and colleges. Maintain and distribute current information about transfer requirements, articulation agreements, and scholarship opportunities. Establish and maintain professional relationships with transfer admissions personnel at four-year institutions.</p> <p>Outreach and Recruitment:</p> <p>Support recruitment efforts by identifying and enrolling eligible students into the SSS program. Facilitate orientation sessions for new participants and communicate program benefits and expectations. Conduct outreach events and represent the SSS program at college functions and community partnerships.</p> <p>Program Evaluation and Documentation:</p> <p>Maintain detailed documentation of services provided and student progress using SSS tracking systems. Assist in the collection and reporting of data for the Annual Performance Report (APR) and grant compliance. Contribute to program assessment and continuous improvement planning.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Bachelor's degree required in education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Preferred: Master's Degree.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The Technical College of the Lowcountry seeks to be the first choice for higher education in South Carolina's Low Country Region.
