<p>CHSC Facility Maintenance team will help to ensure our parks and facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming for the community. This role is responsible for completing daily work orders safely and efficiently; inspecting and maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment; performing general cleaning of restrooms, bleachers, sidewalks, and grounds; and handling landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming trees, and clearing brush. The position also includes routine and preventive maintenance, minor equipment repairs, and safe operation of vehicles, tractors, mowers, and power tools. Additional duties involve painting facility items, opening and closing the facility, setting up and tearing down equipment for events, overseeing shelter rentals, assisting park visitors, and serving as Manager on Duty when needed. Other duties may be assigned</p> <p>Operational Excellence</p> <p>Include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Complete daily work orders as assigned, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards. </li><li>Inspect and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and proper appearance. </li><li>Perform general cleaning, including restrooms, bleachers, sidewalks, trash removal, and groundskeeping. </li><li>Maintain landscaping by mowing, trimming trees, clearing brush, and performing related duties. </li><li>Perform routine and preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, machinery, and vehicles. </li><li>Safely operate Park District equipment, including vehicles, tractors, mowers, and hand/power tools such as pole saws, drills, and blowers. </li><li>Paint facility items such as picnic tables, trash cans, and shelters as needed. </li><li>Open and close the facility each day according to procedures. </li><li>Set up and tear down tents, tables, chairs, and other materials for events and programs. </li><li>Oversee shelter rentals, including setup, cleanup, and support during usage. </li><li>Manage public use of the park, providing assistance and addressing patron needs. </li><li>Act as Manager on Duty when assigned to oversee facility operations and staff. </li><li>Assist with the planning and completion of facility projects under the direction of the General Manager. </li><li>Support the training, supervision, and performance management of seasonal staff. </li><li>Assist with tracking time and attendance of seasonal employees. </li><li>Provide support for Youth Sports programming during the off-season. </li><li>Deliver excellent customer service to patrons, guests, and team members. </li><li>Use the Park District's HRIS system to clock in and out and to complete HR and payroll-related tasks accurately. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED.</p> <p>3-5 years of maintenance experience, supervisory experience preferred</p> <p>Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
