This role includes providing instruction on climbing techniques and safety, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring the safety of all participants. The coach will also handle administrative tasks such as maintaining records and communicating with students, parents, and school staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Coaching and Instruction</p> <p>Develop and implement climbing training programs tailored to high school &/or middle school students' skill levels and abilities.</p> <p>Conduct climbing practice sessions, providing instruction on techniques, safety procedures, and climbing etiquette.</p> <p>Offer personalized feedback and encouragement to help students improve their climbing skills and build confidence.</p> <p>Safety and Supervision</p> <p>Ensure all climbing activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and guidelines. Monitor students during climbing sessions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Conduct regular equipment checks and ensure all climbing gear is properly maintained. Team Building and Motivation</p> <p>Foster a positive team atmosphere and encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among students.</p> <p>Organize and lead team-building activities and climbing-related events to enhance group cohesion and morale.</p> <p>Communication and Collaboration</p> <p>Communicate effectively using TeamSnap (Renaissance's communication vehicle for athletics & clubs) with students, parents, and school staff regarding climbing practice schedules, events, and student progress. At a minimum, the coach must communicate with the team on a weekly basis.</p> <p>Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to coordinate and integrate climbing activities into the overall climbing program.</p> <p>Administrative Duties</p> <p>Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any incidents that occur during practices or competitions.</p> <p>Communicate effectively with the Athletic Director regarding climber attendance, progress, and any incidents that occur during practices or competitions.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and Certifications:</p> <p>High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred</p> <p>First Aid/CPR Certification - Colorado</p> <p>Willingness to obtain the Ubergrippen certification is required (no cost). Climbing-specific certifications (e.g., AMGA or PCGI) are a plus.</p> <p>Preferred skills and work experience:</p> <p>Previous experience coaching climbing or working with youth in a sports setting is preferred.</p> <p>Knowledge of climbing techniques, safety practices, and gear maintenance.</p> <p>Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to engage and inspire middle school students. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.</p> <p>Ability to manage and supervise students effectively in a climbing environment.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Essential Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Ability to climb, demonstrate techniques, and assist students as needed.</p> <p>Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds</p> <p>Ability to stand/walk for ninety (90) minutes</p> <p>Ability to run short distances</p> <p>Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Stipend range: $1000 - $1250</p> <p>Application Instructions::</p> <p>This Job Posting is for two positions, one for the middle school season and one for the high school season.
