<p>The primary purpose of the CES II is to assist the Farm Management in the overall management of row crop, vegetables, hay, and poultry operations. Training of offenders and staff at Enterprise Farm and various state locations. This position primarily works in the daily operation of the farming operation but will also assist with row crop, poultry and vegetable production at times. This position is also responsible for the tool and key inventory for farm operation. This position will perform the necessary maintenance of the equipment operated in the cost center. This position is responsible for planting, spraying, scouting and fertilization of agricultural crops. This position will require occasional weekend work. Work must be closely monitored to comply with quality and quantity standards, NCDAC policies, safety policies, and all other applicable laws, policies, and regulations.</p> <p>This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits</p> <p>Necessary Special Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Click HERE for specific certification requirements. </li><li>Must be at least 20 years of age and a citizen of the United States. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license. Pass Psychological testing as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. </li><li>Pass Physical Examination as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. </li><li>Pass Drug Screening as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. </li><li>Attend and successfully complete (6) weeks of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at a Training Facility. </li><li>Employees shall be scheduled for BCOT during their 2nd month of employment. </li></ul> <p>Note to Current State Employees</p> <p>State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
