<p>The Program Specialist, People in Transition provides case management and referral services to displaced homemakers regarding career and social service needs. In addition, the Program Specialist, People in Transition supports the Director in the scheduling, facilitation, and evaluation of career and life skills workshops that address the needs of displaced homemakers. The Program Specialist, Displaced Homemakers collaborates with Behavioral Services department to streamline support services for displaced homemakers who are also RCSJ students.</p> <p>This is a full-time, grant-funded position.</p> <ul> <li>Serves as the initial point of contact for individuals inquiring about displaced homemaker services. </li><li>Meets with displaced homemaker clients regarding strategies for self-sufficiency, including but not limited to, career plans, resumes, job search, job leads, interview skills, and continuing education needs. </li><li>Provides case management, including but not limited to, initiating, implementing, and following up with each clients Plan of Action. </li><li>Assists clients with enrolling into certificate training programs that align with career plan. </li><li>Assists Director with preparing and implementing informational workshops pertinent to the social service, budgeting, and career realms. </li><li>Refers and advocates for clients to ensure linkage to social service and community resources. </li><li>Maintains confidential files of client information, such as intakes, workshop registrations, data entry, and scheduling. </li><li>Assist with maintaining statistical information on outcomes of all initiatives and grant writing reports. </li><li>Provides administrative support for the program. </li><li>Attends events and meetings held through People in Transition, Division on Women, NJ Displaced Homemaker Network and Rowan College of South Jersey. </li><li>Collaborates with Director and other Displaced Homemakers staff on the preparation and distribution of the newsletter and calendar of events. </li><li>Completes monthly surveys for Program funders and Institutional Research. </li><li>Assists with coordination of donation drives and events. </li></ul> <p>Perform other duties, as assigned</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related social service field and/or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related social service field preferred. </li><li>Minimum of two years' experience working with clients and case management preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of career and social service resources within Gloucester County and the surrounding areas. </li><li>Experience in developing and facilitating workshops. </li><li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule with variable hours, includes evenings and possible weekends. </li><li>Must be available to travel throughout New Jersey to attend monthly meetings with the use of personal vehicle. </li><li>Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners. </li><li>Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment </li></ul> <p>If certain conditions exist, this position requires you to have access to personal technological equipment and capabilities to perform your duties.COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for all positions at Rowan College of South Jersey.
