We offer career opportunities where you can contribute and grow.</p> <p>Build your future with us</p> <p>CSU Producer Resources Inc. seeks an excess and surplus lines underwriter for its contract binding division. This role will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing underwriting data to determine if risks meet underwriting standards and determine proper terms and rates for acceptable risks within our binding authority agreements. The candidate is required to reside in proximity to our Fairfield, OH Headquarters.</p> <p>Salary: The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $115,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.</p> <p>Be ready to:</p> <ul> <li>work in partnership with other underwriters and producers to solicit, underwrite, price and set appropriate terms and conditions for new and renewal surplus lines excess casualty business </li><li>assist in developing, analyzing and evaluating relevant information and exposures for accounts within our excess casualty appetite </li><li>achieve production and loss ratio goals </li><li>work independently with a high level of authority and judgment </li><li>develop successful business relationships with underwriters, producers and leadership </li><li>serve as the subject matter expert responsible for training and educating the CSU Underwriting team </li></ul> <p>Be equipped with:</p> <ul> <li>proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook </li><li>strong interpersonal skills </li><li>organizational and time management skills </li><li>strong decision-making, analytical and negotiating abilities </li><li>desire to build relationships and listen effectively </li><li>the ability to develop positive working relationships with team members, agents and producers by working to find solutions that are beneficial to all </li><li>skilled use of verbal communication to explain, negotiate and present information </li><li>an understanding of when to use verbal vs. written communication </li></ul> <p>Bring education and experience from:</p> <ul> <li>a bachelor's degree or extensive relevant excess and surplus lines or admitted lines underwriting experience </li><li>five or more years of experience working with excess liability and casualty products (required) </li><li>prior excess and surplus casualty underwriting experience with a carrier, broker or MGA (preferred) </li><li>ASLI or CPCU designations (preferred) </li></ul> <p>Candidates with a carrier background will be given preference.
