Ryerson offers a dynamic, quality-focused, environment, ideal for advancing your career and making your mark in the metals industry.</p> <p>As a Warehouse Operator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and production on the shop floor.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders </li><li>Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders </li><li>Packaging of material to customer requirements </li><li>Daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications </li><li>Work order confirmation on computer </li><li>Operating an overhead crane, forklift, and side loader to move material as needed </li><li>Truck loading/unloading </li><li>All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Some experience working in a warehouse and manufacturing setting </li><li>Forklift/side-loader experience preferred </li><li>Ability to safely operate the Overhead crane preferred </li><li>Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand tools </li><li>Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer </li><li>Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility </li><li>Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding </li></ul> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier</p>
