We have the role for you!</p> <p>Agri Beef, in partnership with Veterinary Research and Consulting Services (VRCS), is hiring a Staff Veterinarian to join a collaborative, results-driven team focused on excellence in animal health, innovation, and leadership development.</p> <p>This position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on across the full beef production lifecycle, from genetics to beef processing, while receiving mentorship from respected leaders in the field. You will quickly take on meaningful responsibility, contribute to herd health initiatives, and build relationships that will support your long-term success.</p> <p>POSITION PURPOSE:</p> <p>As a Staff Veterinarian, you will work alongside experienced veterinary consultants and team members to design and execute animal health protocols, while overseeing the health management for Agri Beef's renowned Wagyu breeding program. You will analyze herd data to drive improvements in health outcomes, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, and collaborate closely with a supportive team of veterinarians, production specialists, and leadership.</p> <p>SCOPE:</p> <ul> <li>99% Beef Cattle, 1% Equine. </li><li>Veterinary mentorship and on-the-job training provided by current Staff Veterinarian and the team at Veterinary Research and Consulting Services LLC. </li><li>Licensure and USDA Accreditation in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana, and Wyoming - licensure fees reimbursable by the company if not already obtained. </li><li>Position based out of Boise, ID with some seasonal overnight travel. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>AB Genetics (Snake River Farms Program) (40%)</p> <ul> <li>Maintain the health and well-being of the Wagyu bull herd, ensuring bulls are sound and fertile prior to the breeding season. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all State-mandated trichomoniasis testing requirements. </li><li>Assist with the planning and execution of bull and heifer development programs. </li><li>Opportunity to be involved in advanced reproduction projects such as artificial insemination (AI), embryo transfer (ET), and ovum pick-up (OPU). </li><li>Support research initiatives through data collection, pregnancy diagnosis, and ranch consulting. </li></ul> <p>AB Livestock (40%)</p> <ul> <li>Deliver evidence-based veterinary medicine, technology, animal husbandry and management practices to feeding partners, including feedlots, growyards, and pasture operations who raise and feed outside company owned cattle. </li><li>Manage regulatory documentation for feeding partners, including Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), Veterinary Feed Directives (VFD), and prescriptions. </li></ul> <p>Veterinary Research and Consulting Services (20%)</p> <ul> <li>Assist in implementing and monitoring animal health programs at internal company feedyards. </li><li>Work collaboratively with a progressive veterinary team, leveraging a collective 175+ years of knowledge and experience. </li></ul> <p>General Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Drive the STAR Commitment for Animal Well-Being throughout the organization as we recognize livestock as the foundation of our livelihood. https://www.agribeef.com/animal-well-being/ </li><li>Set annual research goals to ensure learning and growth is always occurring. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement in every aspect of the business. </li><li>Self-report excellence. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>A humble learner who seeks first to understand and then to be understood. </li><li>Excellent communication skills incorporating a "listen first" mindset. </li><li>Detail-oriented team player with a servant-leader mindset. </li><li>Organization skills: time management, responsiveness, and cleanliness are imperatives. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD). </li><li>Practical experience in cattle production and population medicine; Some knowledge of the industry. </li></ul>
