Assist the safety team in the design, development and/or installation of machine guards and safety devices. Advise Branch Manager in machine purchasing and installation.</p> <ul> <li>Must Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication safety programs and OSHA safety standards </li><li>Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication mission statement. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and optimum functioning equipment, systems, and processes. </li><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to maintain workplace safety and production efficiency. </li><li>Generate parts lists and labor time estimates for maintenance and repairs. </li><li>Train key shop teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment. </li><li>Maintain repair records. </li><li>Perform other duties as required by your supervisor. Minimum Requirements: </li><li>Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. </li><li>Must be 18 years or older. Preferences: </li><li>Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college </li><li>Training in electrical controls, welding, mobile crane operation and rigging </li><li>Experience installing and programming electrical safety devices </li><li>Two years' experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance and repairs </li><li>Two years' experience in electrical maintenance and repairs </li><li>Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams </li><li>Familiar with OSHA safety standards </li><li>Ability to work as part of a team, as well as with others to achieve a common goal. </li><li>Demonstrated communication skills necessary to coordinate teammates and schedule repairs or maintenance. </li></ul> <p>Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - M/F/Disabled/Vets - and a drug - free workplace</p>
