<p>Pentucket Regional School District</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Math Teacher</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The Middle High School Math Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective mathematics instruction to students in grades 7-12. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment that supports critical thinking, problem-solving, and mastery of mathematical concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to higher-level topics such as Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and AP Statistics, depending on grade level.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field. </li><li>Possession of a math teaching license through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at the middle and/or high school level. </li><li>SEI Endorsement. </li><li>Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Experience with data-driven instruction. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check. </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>Work Year: 184 days (school year)</p> <p>Salary/Benefits: Per the negotiated PAT contract</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district math standards. </li><li>Teach math concepts appropriate to the grade level, including topics such as pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, statistics, and/or AP Statistics. </li><li>Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. </li><li>Assess student understanding regularly through quizzes, tests, projects, and formative assessments. </li><li>Provide timely feedback and support to help students improve their mathematical skills. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with IEPs or English language learners. </li><li>Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and communication. </li><li>Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and families to support student success. </li><li>Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning. </li></ul> <p>Physical and Environmental Demands:</p> <p>The physical and environmental demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment. </li><li>Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff. </li><li>Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position. </li></ul> <p>The Superintendent may waive or modify the qualification requirements.
