<p>Job Title: Construction Safety Specialist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role leads the development and execution of the project safety program on active construction sites. The Construction Safety Specialist partners closely with project teams and subcontractors to set clear safety expectations, deliver training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific requirements. This position conducts regular site inspections, investigates incidents, and maintains comprehensive safety documentation to promote a strong safety culture and prevent workplace injuries.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute the project safety program for assigned construction projects. </li><li>Lead site safety orientations for all new employees and maintain accurate participation records. </li><li>Work closely with the project team and subcontractors to define, communicate, and enforce safety expectations. </li><li>Conduct pre-task planning meetings with subcontractors before work begins to identify hazards and controls. </li><li>Run weekly safety meetings and communicate safety updates to all teams on site. </li><li>Ensure subcontractors meet all OSHA and site-specific training requirements. </li><li>Maintain records of subcontractor toolbox talks and safety-related activities. </li><li>Review subcontractor safety plans to verify compliance with project safety standards. </li><li>Confirm each subcontractor has a qualified safety representative present on site. </li><li>Perform daily site walks to observe work practices and identify unsafe conditions. </li><li>Conduct weekly formal safety inspections and document findings and corrective actions. </li><li>Identify unsafe conditions and practices, issue reports, and follow up to ensure timely resolution. </li><li>Exercise stop-work authority immediately when unsafe practices are observed. </li><li>Support fire prevention, emergency response, and evacuation planning for the project site. </li><li>Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and complete detailed written reports. </li><li>Maintain all required safety documentation, logs, and records in an organized and accessible manner. </li><li>Run monthly safety review meetings to evaluate performance and recommend improvements. </li><li>Support claims management activities related to safety incidents as needed. </li><li>Attend project meetings and provide clear updates on safety performance, trends, and action plans. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of safety experience, preferably in construction or a similar field environment. </li><li>Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices. </li><li>OSHA 30 certification. </li><li>First Aid and CPR training. </li><li>HAZWOPER training or certification. </li><li>Hands-on experience with safety management and health and safety programs. </li><li>Experience delivering safety training and leading safety meetings. </li><li>Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs. </li><li>Working knowledge of real-time computer or tablet-based safety reporting programs. </li><li>Excellent safety report writing skills with attention to detail and clarity. </li><li>Bachelor's degree. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, MA.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
