Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of 10 years as a Network Engineer within the Department of Defense (DOD) environment. 1 academic year at an accredited college or university in a preferred degree-related post-secondary program can be substituted for 1 year of experience.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Performance Monitoring:</p> <p>Monitor network engineering performance to ensure system availability and reliability.</p> <p>Configuration and Installation:</p> <p>Configure and install various network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS settings.</p> <p>Maintenance and Upgrades:</p> <p>Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including applying service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.</p> <p>Resource Utilization:</p> <p>Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning to optimize network performance.</p> <p>Change Management:</p> <p>Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.</p> <p>Vendor Liaison:</p> <p>Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and technical support.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>A Senior Network Engineer typically works on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
