<p>Schedule: Hours are Friday-Tuesday 11pm-7:30am</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Medical Technologist, you will perform blood, urine, and body fluid tests with precision and a deep understanding of the underlying theories. You will study the morphology of blood constituents to gather data essential for diagnosing and treating diseases.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Gain experience and develop working knowledge by performing routine procedures utilizing complex instrumentation and manual methods. </li><li>Ensure the accuracy, interpretation, and reporting of results with supervisor review. </li><li>Perform and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and quality control. </li><li>Refer problems and unusual results to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Provide clerical and support services as needed, responding to customer needs and requests. </li><li>Participate in proficiency testing of unknowns and internal and external continuing education. </li><li>Engage in continuing education programs related to laboratories. </li><li>Receive acceptable blood specimens, label specimens, log information, and separate specimens for testing. </li><li>Perform automated testing of CBC, platelet, retic and autodiff, body fluid counts, ESR, PT, PTT and Fibrinogen, D-Dimer, and urinalysis. </li><li>Perform spun hematocrits, microscopic urinalysis, WBC, CSF, and body fluid counts, joint fluid testing for crystals, and differential cell counts. </li><li>Consult with supervisory technologist and/or hematologist/pathologist regarding difficult analyses or abnormal findings. </li><li>Record test results and operate computer terminals to manage laboratory data. </li><li>Assist supervisory technologist and address hematology-related questions. </li><li>Perform quality control procedures accurately, documenting corrective actions and maintenance logs. </li><li>Follow all safety policies and procedures, notifying supervisors of unsafe conditions, and participating in safety education and competency activities. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college required. </li><li>ASCP Certified (preferred in hematology) </li><li>Proficient in laboratory, medical, and hematology procedures. </li><li>Knowledgeable in clinical laboratory practices and medical technology. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
