<p>Job Title: Mechanical Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our industrial HVAC & utility system design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Newark, DE. Flexibility to sit in Philadelphia as a last resort. Some hybrid flexibility as well. Project types are mostly Industrial in nature like Pharma, Chemical, etc. This candidate must be a technically focused mechanical engineer to help with production while leading the design floor.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the design of mechanical utility & HVAC systems, including sizing and selection of building mechanical equipment such as air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, VRF & DX split systems, and terminal devices. </li><li>Perform a variety of engineering calculations such as HVAC load & ventilation air calculations, psychometrics, pipe flow/pressure drop, ductwork sizing, ductwork static pressure, and hydraulic analysis for piping sizing and layout. </li><li>Utilize building load calculation software like Trane Trace. </li><li>Develop building energy models when necessary. </li><li>Apply knowledge of relevant MEP industry codes & standards such as ASHRAE, ICC Codes, NFPA, SMACNA, etc. </li><li>Develop and write equipment & project specifications. </li><li>Interact with internal team members and external stakeholders including clients, vendors, and contractors. </li><li>Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and technical guidance to other Engineers and Designers in the MEP group. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li>8+ years of professional experience </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred </li><li>Proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD, Microstation, and Revit </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with HVAC Systems, Air Handlers, Chillers, Pumps, Fans, Cooling Towers, Compressors, Dryers, Boilers, Load Calculations, Flow, Ductwork, BIM, Mechanical Design, and Piping </li><li>Familiarity with building load calculation software such as Trane Trace </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Our office features an open floor space environment with areas of 4 desks with dividers. The team is collaborative and always willing to help and teach where needed. The MEP division consists of 30 people, including 8-10 engineers and the rest are designers. Flexible working hours are allowed as long as 8 hours are completed within the 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. timeframe, with availability during most 'prime' hours.
