<p>About the Role</p> <p>Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a Loss Control Consultant on our Commercial Lines team within the Atlantic South region. This position will provide risk management/loss control services to our insured and gather critical risk assessment information for the underwriting staff in addition to identifying potential risks associated with various accounts and provide factual data to the underwriting staff with recommendations to reduce the risk factors.</p> <p>This is a field based position with bulk of the field work primarily in Northern/Central Delaware. Preferred candidates will reside in the Wilmington/Newark/Dover, DE areas or Southeast PA (greater Philadelphia area). Other locations could be considered for the right candidate.</p> <p>Ideal candidates will need to be able to administer training, provide, safety program guidance, and effectively present findings in both written and personal presentation environments. In addition, candidates will be expected to be able to review reports completed by others for quality and issue appropriate recommendations. Overall, work will include prospective assessments, new business assessments, and workload tasks in a defined territory to meet both customer and internal requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Conduct field visits, complete on-site and remote risk surveys, manage internal report reviews, and recommendation compliance and issuance. </li><li>Collect objective data on various accounts and supply meaningful risk information to the underwriter that addresses UW guidelines in conformance with applicable codes and regulations. </li><li>Meet with the insured, associated agents, and establish an effective working relationship. </li><li>Provide property and casualty service plan development, implementation, and execution that drives effective risk reduction by reducing the risk factors of accounts. </li><li>Consults with market partners (Underwriting and distribution) to provide additional account feedback when necessary including the identification and communication of high hazard exposures. </li><li>Ensure that risk surveys and reports are informative and give a clear picture of the potential risk factors of the account. </li><li>Prioritize and manage work assignments to provide reports on prebind assessments, new business, renewals and Large Account Service Program items per established turnaround standards and due dates to facilitate account management. </li><li>Maintain all professional designations/certifications as required by the regulatory bodies for the territory served for loss control services. </li><li>Adhere to all Loss Control Department guidelines and consult with the department manager on various accounts. </li><li>Demonstrate a professional positive image to our insureds, agents, and internal stakeholders. </li><li>Required to have a valid drivers license </li><li>Overnight travel may be required (up to 30% of the time). </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Safety management, Risk Management or related field. </li><li>Demonstration of self-development by working towards attainment of professional insurance designations, CSP, CIH, PE, CPCU, etc. </li><li>Minimum 7 years of property/casualty insurance experience with a minimum of 3 years experience as a loss control representative. </li><li>Successful risk reduction service planning and execution with associated customers. </li></ul> <p>Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 annually. The specific offer will vary based on an applicant's education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on an applicant's geographic location.</p> <p>The base pay is just one component of Donegal's total compensation package for employees. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.</p> <p>Application deadline to apply is April 1, 2025.
