Sustained members of our team demonstrate accountable behavior and share our values of customer service, innovation, integrity, financial stewardship, leadership and care.</p> <p>The Certified Occupancy Specialist is responsible for overseeing and performing the re-examination process for continued subsidy of current residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.</p> <p>Essential Activities and Tasks</p> <p>Operations Management - 50%</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains organization of all phases of the recertification process, conducive with required deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts the re-examination interview, process, and maintains files and correspondence, ensuring proper verification methods and use of income verification system.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews resident files and verification forms for accuracy and completeness as well as accurately inputs data into computer systems in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with background checks, move-in, and move-out paperwork.</p> </li></ul> <p>Customer Service - 35%</p> <ul> <li> <p>Answers inquiries concerning policies and practices associated with the application and/or re-examination processes in a courteous and professional manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Explains rent calculation to tenants and assists with completion of re-certification materials as necessary.</p> </li></ul> <p>Financial Management - 5%</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepares and sends appropriate notices of rent adjustments in accordance with HUD regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Submits monthly ancillary charges for rent statements.</p> </li></ul> <p>Quality and Compliance Management - 5%</p> <ul> <li>Prepares and completes Form HUD-50059 accurately and submits to the HUD computer system within deadline requirements. </li></ul> <p>All other duties as assigned. - 5%</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required.</p> </li><li> <p>Occupancy Specialist Certification required within 90 days of employment, if not currently certified.</p> </li><li> <p>Associate's degree in public service, business administration, or related field preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>In the absence of an Associate's degree, two years of experience in multifamily housing field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to HUD multi-family housing.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of basic math principles sufficient to perform calculations for determining rent, resolving discrepancies, and EIV errors.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Sitting - Up to 8 hours/day</p> </li><li> <p>Standing - Up to 4 hours/day</p> </li><li> <p>Walking - Up to 4 hours/day</p> </li><li> <p>Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients or equipment/supplies. - Up to 25 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Driving - Up to 1 hour/day</p> </li><li> <p>Work weekends, evenings, and holidays. - Required as scheduled</p> </li><li> <p>Subject to residents/patients with various disease processes. - Occasional</p> </li><li> <p>Risk Category for Exposure to Bloodborne Diseases - III</p> </li></ul>
