Develops and promotes the IB philosophy in an ongoing and successful program for students and staff. Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation and assessment of the International Baccalaureate Primary or Middle Years Programme with building leadership. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Completes applications, provides correspondence and serves as a point of contact between the school and the International Baccalaureate Organization. Provides staff development and training around planning, aligning, and refining the Programme of Inquiry. Provides support for teams of teachers as they plan, instruct and reflect upon IB units. Coordinates and monitors school-wide systems that support the implementation of the MYP or PYP Programme. Implements all state and federal requirements pertaining to the IB program. Provides all MYP or PYP staff with required IB materials. Submits all IB-related fee payments, membership fees in a timely fashion. Gathers and maintains data and documentation for IB requirements and accreditation. Implements policies outlined in Principles into Practice (IB manual) for the goals, objectives, criteria and assessment by subject area. Proposes an annual IB Budget consistent with program operations and needs. Facilitates the collaboration work of MYP or PYP staff in order to identify staff training needs and provide input to the Principal. Assists in developing a positive program image by celebrating student, staff and school honors. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.</p> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>-- Central focus for MYP or PYP organization and administration within the school. </li><li>-- Undertake or contribute to special projects, both internally and /or in cooperation with outside agencies, to promote the MYP or PYP and the IBO and to extend the impact of both. </li><li>-- Provide support on authorization and evaluation visits as requested by regional offices. </li><li>-- Contribute responsibly to staff management in order to maintain a well-functioning MYP or PYP team. </li><li>-- Follows all Board policies, state laws and regulations. </li><li>-- Review current educational resources from national and international sources, to inform the ongoing development of the program so as to ensure its quality and relevance. </li><li>-- Provide content and maintain the MYP or PYP webpage. </li><li>-- Monitor and review the implementation of MYP or PYP subject guides by school. </li><li>-- Maintain resources of current IB MYP or PYP related documents and materials. </li><li>-- Manage the process of curriculum review and development for each of the subject groups to ensure continuing MYP quality standards, as pertinent. </li><li>-- Central focus and responsible authority for the MYP or PYP Application process including the authorization visit. </li><li>-- Pedagogical leader of the MYP or PYP, as pertinent. </li><li>-- Prepare and present ongoing programs of MYP or PYP orientation and growth to MYP or PYP students. </li><li>-- Provides support to other positions as required. </li><li>-- Organize, prepare agendas, coordinate/lead professional development activities for MYP or PYP staff. </li><li>-- May engage in and encourage professional development with the diploma program coordinator. </li><li>-- Develop and administer programs to share information between teachers returning from training and the rest of the staff. </li><li>-- Develop and present orientations and other informational programs for MYP or PYP parents. </li><li>-- Oversee the MYP or PYP budget. </li><li>-- Coordinate/communicate closely with the IB diploma program coordinator at any successive schools. </li><li>-- Ensure concept of internationalism permeates all subjects. </li><li>-- Be familiar with and advise administration and faculty on all IB MYP or PYP related documents. </li></ul> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>NCLB Highly Qualified in Middle Education Certification - IBNA, Teaching License - Colorado Department of Education</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree (Required)</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>ThunderRidge High School</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>20</p> <p>Full-Time Equivalent (FTE):</p> <p>0.50</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>185 Work Days</p> <p>Full Salary Range:</p> <p>$56,366.00 USD - $119,121.00 USD Annual</p> <p>Position Salary Schedule Eligibility:</p> <p>Hard to Hire</p> <p>Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire.
