<p>The Individual Child Aide - School Age Program, will foster a safe and supportive environment in the After-School program for children with learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges. The role focuses on providing individualized support to help these children successfully integrate into the program. This is a part time position - up to 19.5 hours weekly.</p> <p>At Community Teamwork our employees enjoy best-in-class benefits to support their physical, financial and emotional wellness.</p> <p>We offer:</p> <ul> <li>Starting at $18. 53 per hour </li><li>Casual work environment </li><li>Paid sick leave </li><li>Career advancement and professional development </li><li>5% contribution to your 401K whether you participate on your own or not. </li><li>Great co-workers and a great mission with an outstanding Community Action Agency </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Offer one-on-one support to children aged 5-13 with special emotional or learning needs within the after-school program. </li><li>Build positive, trusting relationships with children through effective relationship-building techniques. </li><li>Assist in the childs involvement in all program routines, including peer interactions and group activities. </li><li>Follow the guidance of their supervisor regarding child behavior management. </li><li>Implement recommended interventions, using sensory and emotional support tools, and respond appropriately to the childs behaviors. </li><li>Observe and provide feedback on the effectiveness of interventions to support the childs self-regulation. </li><li>Ensure the childs safety at all times, manage unsafe behaviors, and report concerns to the Site Manager. </li><li>Communicate with parents at the end of the shift, as needed, in coordination with the Site Manager. </li><li>Report any concerns to the School Age Inclusion Specialist. </li><li>Collaborate professionally with School Age and clinical staff. </li><li>Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions. </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Experience working with school-age children in an educational or childcare setting is required. </li><li>Preferred experience with children who have behavioral, developmental, or emotional challenges. </li><li>Ability to engage and connect positively with individual children. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. </li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions. </li><li>Completion of BRC to obtain suitability confirmation is required. </li><li>Recent physical exam and proof of MMR vaccination are required. </li><li>Language skills in Spanish, Swahili, or Portuguese are a plus. </li><li>Availability from 2-6 PM on most weekdays is essential. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer Vets/Disabled</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of an innovative team in an organization committed to excellence.</p>
