<p>Our Retail Area Manager position supervises 4 Retail Store locations and 1 Production Processing Hub in our district. These will be located anywhere within our territory (Central Michigan).</p> <p>Our stores open at 9am and close at 8pm, early mornings and late nights will not be a regular part of your schedule.</p> <p>Most weeks you will be able to work a Monday through Friday schedule, with a few exceptions for planned events or to help a location with a project.</p> <p>In your first year of employment, you will have 4 weeks of paid time off. It begins accruing on day one and is available after 90 days. The achievement of sales goals while operating within a given budget.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Continually serve as a positive role model for all associates, participants and customers working with Goodwill.</p> </li><li> <p>Appropriate and professional verbal communication, appearance and behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with and enforce all agency policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide a high level of customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>Continually support and work cooperatively with all members of retail and upper management as well as all other departments within GICMH.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for all human resources management training and scheduling of store personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Recruitment, hiring and training.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide store management and staff the training they need to perform their jobs.</p> </li><li> <p>Performance Appraisals.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain updated associate and participant files.</p> </li><li> <p>Corrective Actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for store sales, ensuring store managers are obtaining sales goals while operating within given budgets and maintaining desired profit levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the creation and enforcement of stores monthly production plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and respond to customer complaints in a professional manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide leadership and training on store presentations, signing and merchandising to obtain desired goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Retail Director in the development of annual budgets and marketing plan for retail stores.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee cash control procedures and ensure they are being followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Daily cash count sheets</p> </li><li> <p>Bank Deposits</p> </li><li> <p>Register transactions.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigation of overages and shortages.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure weekly rotation policies are being followed at store level.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure stores are opened and closed on time with appropriate staffing levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for complete and accurate information being reported to corporate headquarters.</p> </li><li> <p>Daily sales/cash received reports</p> </li><li> <p>Time cards/ Month End hours</p> </li><li> <p>Weekly production and donation reports</p> </li><li> <p>Availability to meet operation needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to respond to alarm and emergency calls</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to attend all scheduled retail training and meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor to ensure that all safety procedures are being followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Train managers and associates on policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure reports are completed and turned in on time.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned by Retail Operations Manager. </li></ul> <p>Results Expected:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work productively without close supervision. </li><li>Ability to make stores under his/her supervision profitable and fulfill Goodwill's mission. </li><li>Ability to create and implement controls and guidelines to ensure maximum performance from store management. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of participants, associates, and agency information. </li><li>Ability to meet and exceed store production and sales goals. </li><li>Develop a strong management team that maintains a high level of customer service. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Four years of supervision required, preferably in retail </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business is preferred; High school diploma or equivalent is required. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational, computer and communication (written and verbal) skills required. </li><li>Strong problem solving and multi-task supervision skills required. </li><li>Ability to supervise multi-site locations. </li><li>Provide own transportation and adequate insurance for such. Must maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. </li><li>Ability to reach, bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. </li></ul>
