<p>Technology Specialist, Arapahoe Libraries</p> <p>Create Access to Digital Literacy, Build Confidence, Empower Everyone Through Technology</p> <p>Do you believe everyone deserves agency in a digital world? As a Technology Specialist with Arapahoe Libraries, you'll use your skills to guide, teach, and support patrons from all backgrounds. You will empower our community in the world of technology every day.</p> <p>Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Technology Specialist to help patrons access, navigate and troubleshoot technology with confidence. You'll provide compassionate, one-on-one assistance that supports learning, inclusion, and digital equity across our library system.</p> <p>This role focuses on community technology support, collaborative troubleshooting, and 3D printing services. You'll help ensure the best tech help our community can receive is at our libraries, free of charge.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>Each day, you'll be assigned to one of our library branches to provide in-person and email support for a wide range of technology questions from patrons. We'll fully train you on managing the 3D printing service and on maintaining and troubleshooting district hardware and software. You'll collaborate with your fellow Technology Specialists and branch staff via chat to provide consistent, district-wide tech support.</p> <p>Our patrons come from all backgrounds and skill levels. You'll play a key role in supporting their digital confidence while maintaining a respectful, inclusive public service environment. Arapahoe Libraries encourages its staff to set appropriate boundaries with the public, which makes for a more positive and sustainable experience in a public-facing role.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Deliver Patron Technology Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide one-on-one assistance and teaching/education with laptops, mobile devices, software, apps, and more </li><li>Walk patrons through tech solutions to build their confidence and understanding </li><li>Offer inclusive, welcoming support for users of all identities and experience levels </li></ul> <p>Maintain and Support Tech Services</p> <ul> <li>Manage and fulfill 3D print service requests (full training will be provided) </li><li>Respond to and troubleshoot technology issues across library systems </li><li>Seek out creative, collaborative solutions even when facing new challenges </li></ul> <p>Collaborate Across Locations</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate daily with your team using virtual tools </li><li>Work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team culture </li><li>Navigate a flexible schedule and travel between 7 locations as needed </li></ul> <p>Champion a Positive Public Service Environment</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate patience, kindness, and professionalism in all interactions </li><li>Support a team culture that values learning, equity, and camaraderie </li><li>Model healthy boundaries that make public-facing work more sustainable </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <p>Empathy and Communication: You create a safe and welcoming space for learners.</p> <p>Tech Confidence: You enjoy solving problems and exploring new tools on the fly.</p> <p>Adaptability and Resilience: You remain calm and flexible while navigating changing schedules or challenges.</p> <p>Collaboration: You respect diverse experiences and lift up the success of your team.</p> <p>Equity-Focused Perspective: You believe in reducing barriers to access for all.</p> <p>Alignment to ALD Core Values: You lead with curiosity, inclusion, and community impact.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>One year of technology-related experience </li><li>One year of customer service or teaching experience </li><li>Demonstrated intermediate aptitude for technology and troubleshooting </li><li>Patience and aptitude for working with patrons of all backgrounds and skill levels </li><li>Ability to find answers to unfamiliar issues through research and collaboration </li><li>Positive contributor and supportive team member </li><li>Ability to work Tuesday - Saturday, with Sunday/Monday off </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements</p> <p>The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off.</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Spanish, Russian, or Arabic </li><li>Experience working in a library or education setting </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>At Arapahoe Libraries, we are a forward-thinking, inclusive organization committed to enriching lives and strengthening our community.
