<p>We are looking to hire a graduate research assistant at Weber State University. This position is a paid position working 10 to 15 hours per week on a faculty member's research project. The overall purpose is to explore the existence of communities of practice in student newsrooms at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions and in remote professional newsrooms. The research assistants hired for this project will be responsible for the following activities and will work closely with the research team to ensure project success:</p> <ul> <li>Read relevant literature to become familiar with the subject matter. </li><li>Research and summarize relevant articles for a literature review. </li><li>Update the data set with current email addresses. </li><li>Help to develop questions for focus groups. </li><li>Help to develop questions for in-depth interviews. </li><li>Help to identify subjects for focus groups and in-depth interviews. </li></ul> <p>For more information, please contact Dr. Jean Norman at jeannorman@weber.edu. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).</p>
