<p>The Delaware County Juvenile Court is seeking to hire a full-time Assessment Center Specialist. Incumbent will be responsible for screening and evaluating youth who are alleged to have committed an offense or are at-risk to commit an offense, providing crisis intervention services and linkage to needed community resources in order to divert youth from formal court involvement, and providing case oversight during the service linkage.</p> <p>Qualifications for this position are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development, education or a related field. Relevant professional experience working with at-risk is preferred; </li><li>Ability to apply assessment skills necessary to formulate goals and intervention plans; </li><li>Ability to be objective and facilitate the resolution of stressful and/or explosive situations; </li><li>Comfortable working in non-traditional environments; </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; </li><li>Ability to establish good working relationships with co-workers, other county agencies and service providers; </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality; </li><li>Knowledge of family dynamics, child development, and trauma; </li><li>Knowledge of Juvenile Court Judicial System, terminology, procedures, and county personnel policies and procedures; </li><li>Ability to effectively plan independently and in collaboration with other staff, departments, and outside agencies; and </li><li>Must have a clean criminal record and valid Ohio Driver's License. </li></ul> <p>The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provides crisis intervention, case management, and family linkage to other community and social service providers in effort to divert youth from formal court involvement and detention; </li><li>Develops a plan with client & family members to address individualized needs of each family member; </li><li>Conducts identified assessments and screenings with youth; </li><li>Promotes appropriate and effective discipline, conflict resolution, and parenting skills; </li><li>Monitors and follows up on assigned cases; </li><li>Serves on various planning and developmental committees as directed; </li><li>Receives and responds to calls from law enforcement personnel/agencies, including calls outside normal business hours and on weekends; </li><li>Maintains data via computer case management system; </li><li>Complies with all documentation, supervision and training requirements designed for the program; and </li><li>Prepares various data, reports outcomes and documents ongoing program statistics and produces related reports. </li></ul>
