<p>DIVISION: Operations</p> <p>CLOSING DATE/TIME: Until Filled</p> <p>LOCATION: 1201 East 7th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605</p> <p>PAY RATE: $23.40/hr. per Union Contract</p> <p>POSITION PURPOSE:</p> <p>Performs electrical and mechanical inspections, service, diagnosis and repair, to maintain Streetcar vehicles and equipment. This is a semi-skilled level position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Performs safety and preventive maintenance inspections to Streetcars and all related equipment. </li><li>Performs inspection, diagnosis and repairs on Streetcar A/C / D/C electrical systems. </li><li>Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair on Streetcar air conditioning and heating systems. </li><li>Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair on Streetcar compressed air and braking systems. </li><li>Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair on Streetcar truck assemblies, including wheels, axles, drive motors. </li><li>Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair on Streetcar interior and body accessories including windows, seats, doors, etc. </li><li>Performs some service call and emergency repairs in the field. </li><li>Maintains records of work performed. </li><li>Assists higher level mechanics in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks. </li><li>Performs other work-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other work-related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>In addition to a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate, the following are required for each level, per Union contract:</p> <ul> <li> <p>B-Technician</p> </li><li> <p>Graduation from a diesel or mechanical technical school is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic mechanical aptitude with at least 1 year of automotive or diesel repair, servicing and maintenance experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in transit environment, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>A-Technician</p> </li><li> <p>One year as a Streetcar B-Technician</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of Small Engine Repair Course</p> </li><li> <p>Electrical 101 (12V-480V) - Four (4) Day Class</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of High Voltage Electrical Training - NFPA 70E Course</p> </li><li> <p>Streetcar Air Brake Systems Diagnosis and Repair</p> </li><li> <p>Streetcar Low Voltage Electrical Systems Diagnosis and Repair</p> </li><li> <p>Streetcar Suspension Systems and Repair</p> </li><li> <p>Technician</p> </li><li> <p>Two years as a Streetcar A-Technician</p> </li><li> <p>608 Universal Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Welding Mig and Arc</p> </li><li> <p>Streetcar Air Conditioning Diagnosis and Repair</p> </li><li> <p>Streetcar Traction Power and Subsystems Diagnosis and Repair</p> </li></ul> <p>Machines, Tools, & Equipment Used:</p> <ul> <li>General electrical and maintenance repair tools. </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to obtain a Florida Driver's License within 10 days of hire </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must have ability to complete training requirements for Streetcar Safety, Maintenance and Operation </li><li>Must have ability to acquire EPA 608 certification for refrigerant recovery. </li><li>Ability to work independently on maintenance projects, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repairs with limited supervision. </li><li>Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize assignments in order to meet established operational deadlines. </li><li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to interact with the public. </li><li>Ability to work various shifts, hours and days. </li><li>Ability to work under stress and interruptions. </li><li>Ability to interact positively with a variety of personalities internally and externally. </li><li>Ability to accurately memorize and retain details. </li><li>Ability to perform calculations with accuracy. </li><li>Ability to concentrate and learn. </li><li>Ability to withstand harsh criticism and hostility under pressure and perform in a courteous manner. </li><li>Ability to dress appropriately and maintain personal hygiene. </li><li>Ability to conduct oneself so that they are not a threat to themselves or others. </li><li>Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements. </li><li>Ability to be a flexible, effective team player. </li><li>Knowledge of methods, practices and procedures, tools and equipment used in inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing components of Streetcar. </li><li>Working knowledge of occupational hazards, precautions and safety requirements of the associated job duties. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Must meet established training and test guidelines. </li><li>A working home phone number. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands/Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in a standard office environment. </li><li>Ability to hear, see, speak, and perceive color, depth and texture. </li><li>Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. </li><li>May be exposed to potentially intimidating and/or unreceptive members of the public; may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, extreme noise and physical harm. </li></ul> <p>It is the responsibility of all HART employees to provide a safe and secure environment for HART customers, contractors, visitors and fellow co-workers.
